Learn More About Chamomile Tea For Infants & Babies

chamomile tea for infants

Chamomile tea is an absolute God-send, let’s be honest. It calms a nervous tummy, it helps you get a good night’s sleep and it tastes delicious. I’ve been drinking it for years and find it very relaxing – herbal teas just make me feel looked after, wholesome and happy.

Chamomile tea is also great for children, you’ll be glad to know! It works to soothe their tummies during any bouts of illness or colic, and will help them to relax and drift off when it’s bedtime. I’ve found the perfect tea for you and your little ones, from Yogi.

Yogi is one of my favorite brands when it comes to herbal teas – they’re organic, safe and always taste great. I’ll run through some general buying advice before telling you why this is the ultimate chamomile tea for babies and toddlers.

Criteria

There are a few things to consider when buying a herbal tea for the first time. While these are my personal preferences, I hope they help you when choosing which tea to buy.

As with all things, I like organic. I don’t see the point in drinking a herbal tea that’s loaded with extra nasties. I like herbal teas at all times of day, and want to make sure I’m not accidentally putting chemicals into my body when I actually think I’m doing it a favor.

I also like to check that the product contains no GMOs, for the same reason. If you’re looking for a chamomile tea for babies, this is extra important, so make sure you read the labels and do some research.

It’s also important to decide if you’re going for teabags or loose leaf tea before you dive in. I tend to mix between the two, as I’m always enticed by lots of new, different teas I find on my travels. Teabags are super easy and you can easily take some in your bag to work and prepare a cup of tea in a matter of minutes. If you’re interested in dabbling with loose leaf tea, you do need to buy yourself a little tea strainer first (super cheap!). It takes a little longer to prepare loose leaf tea but, to me, is always worth it. There’s something very sacred and soulful about preparing tea with leaves and going through rituals that date back to our ancestors. That said, it can be a bit of a nightmare if you’re in a rush!

Find a flavor that suits you. Sounds pretty obvious, but it’s worth considering what type of flavor you like, as chamomile tea can have many different tastes.

Think about how you’ve drank it in the past, or what teas you normally drink if you’re never tried it before. Do you like the strong, rich flavors or subtler, gentle tones?

Most tea brands describe the flavor of their specific tea or blends, so it’s always worth reading the packaging before purchasing!
