Clear Your Throat & Nose With The Best Tea For Congestion

Colds are one of the worst things that can strike – mainly because they strike so often!

Nobody really sympathizes with you when you have a cold, but everyone expects lots of TLC when they’re sniffly, red-nosed and groggy.

I’ve discovered the best tea for congestion and I want to share it with you, along with some general tips to help you foray out on your own, albeit wrapped in ten jumpers and sneezing like crazy.

On the hunt for a tea to relieve those stuffed sinuses? Here a few things to take into account…

Get something caffeine-free. I know, I know. Your energy levels are at an all-time low.

Caffeine will only make things worse right now, however, and by buying a caffeine-free drink, you know you have some late night relief if you need it.

Some key ingredients to look out for include, as always, chamomile. I love chamomile so much; it literally makes everything better.

Chamomile is often used in decongesting teas as it soothes the mind and body. It helps you relax despite the discomfort that colds and the flu can bring.

Lemongrass, or lemon itself, is also fantastic. It soothes your sinuses while working to clear them.

Licorice and fennel are also good to ingest if you have a cold. They have a pretty strong flavor so make sure you like it before you bulk-buy!

Teabags or loose leaf?

Loose leaf tea is one of my favorite little luxuries in life, but isn’t the most practical thing when you’re dazed, bumbling around the kitchen and unable to fully open your eyes. Stick to teabags for situations like these – much easier; much quicker.

This tea actually works, which is always a ‘pro’ in my books. It’s full of natural goodness to help clear out your sinuses and help you breathe more comfortably and normally.

It’s caffeine-free so can be drunk at any time of day, or help you settle in for a good night’s sleep.

This tea is also very reasonably priced. That's great if you fall in love with it and want to stay stocked up and cheap enough to buy and experiment with if you’re not sure.

I also really trust this brand. There’s nothing nasty in this tea, and they've gone the extra mile to make their packaging recyclable.

Any brand that wants to look after my body as well as the environment is one to commit to and really appreciate.

I personally love the flavors they’ve added to this tea, but our taste buds are all different and it might not be delicious to everyone. This is the only ‘con’ I can think of, as we all like different things.

For such a low price, however, I’d suggest giving it a whirl. It might not be your flavor, but I’m sure you’ll love it when you realize how much better it can make you feel.
